Handa Copper Corporation

Handa Copper draws its name from the X-shaped copper ingots cast by pre-colonial coppersmiths in Central Africa. The 'handa', also known as the 'Katanga cross', was used as a form of currency in central Africa during the 19th and early 20th centuries. A Katanga cross would buy about 10 kilograms of flour, five or six chickens or six axes.
